Our Mission

Nursing students work in collaboration with SHAC from a position distinctly empowered to advance health for all. We strive to work in partnership with a multitude of SHAC programs with the core nursing values of integrity, leadership, excellence, agility, and diversity.

About Us

The UNC School of Nursing is the world’s leading public Nursing School. Volunteers include both BSN and ABSN students who have made a commitment to public service through SHAC. Nursing students traditionally aid in Wednesday night clinics assessing vitals and collecting labs. However, you will find nursing students in a variety of roles as they serve to support the wide array of programs offered by SHAC. Nurses are uniquely positioned to provide support through assessments, education, and care with the ultimate goal of providing interdisciplinary service to anyone in need of care.
