On Saturday, April 5, 2014, the 1st Annual Tar Heel Trailblazer was a fantastic success, raising approximately $5,000 for the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center Aftercare Programs.

Elections were held April 14 - 21, 2014 and faculty at the University of North Carolina elected Dr. Bruce Cairns, Director of the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center to succeed Jan Boxill as Faculty Chair.

Bruce A. Cairns, MD, Medical Director of the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center, John Stackhouse Distinguished Professor of Surgery, and 2013 recipient of the Edward Kidder Graham Faculty Service Award, is a candidate for Faculty Chair.

The American Burn Association held its annual meeting in Boston, Massachusetts, March 25-28, 2014.
