Julia Malik Accepted in the Program in Translational Medicine

July 19, 2013

Julia Malik a PhD student working with mentors Dr. Bruce Cairns and Dr. Rob Maile received a Howard Hughes Medical Institute award in Translational Medicine. This award allows Julia to work towards a Certificate in Translational Medicine that will be conferred by the UNC Graduate School coincident of her PhD degree. Congratulations Julia!

Laurel Kartchner Receives Grant

Laurel Kartchner, graduate student in the burn lab, received a National Science Foundation grant to develop a bioluminescent Pseudomonas bacterium that the lab can use in real time to track and quantify infection after burn. Congratulations Laurel!
