Congratulations to our eight faculty physicians who were recently recognized on the 2019-2020 Best Doctors List.

Kristy Borawski, MD

Professor of Urology

Dr. Borawski’s practice focuses on female urology, urodynamics, neurourology, reconstructive surgery, female/male incontinence.

R. Matthew Coward, MD, FACS

Adjunct Professor of Urology

Dr. Coward trained under Dr. Culley Carson III during his residency at UNC prior to a fellowship in Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine with Dr. Larry Lipshultz. While Dr. Coward’s practice focuses on male reproductive medicine and surgery, he spends his clinical time split between UNC Urology and UNC Fertility.

Brad Figler, MD, FACS

Associate Professor of Urology and Plastic Surgery
Program Director, Fellowship in Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgery

Dr. Figler’s practice focuses on genital and lower urinary tract reconstruction. Areas of expertise include male and female urethral strictures, lichen sclerosus, genital skin deficiency, buried penis, hidradenitis, urinary fistulas, and genital malignancies. Dr. Figler completed his residency training at Emory University and his fellowship training at University of Washington with Hunter Wessells. Before joining UNC in 2016, he was Director of Reconstructive Urology at Thomas Jefferson University.

Dr. Raynor’s clinical interests include minimally-invasive surgery of the urinary tract, including robotic reconstruction for ureteral strictures.
