On Match Day 2024, members from across UNC Anesthesiology were thrilled to learn the names and faces of the department’s newest class of incoming PGY1 residents. Celebratory cake was served in the Norfleet Conference room as department members dropped in to see who the next class of newcomers — 14 Categorical and 2 Reserved Residents — will be when they begin their training in July 2024.

Associate Residency Program Director Emily Teeter, MD, noted: “This year, we successfully matched 16 future UNC Anesthesiology residents. Fourteen of them are categorical residents who will start in June and complete all four years of training with our program.  The other two are Reserved candidates who have already completed an intern year and will start as CA-1s in July.  Our applicant pool was more competitive than ever, and our residents represent the best and brightest in the country.  We are thrilled to welcome them to UNC!”
