UNC Department of Anesthesiology applauds the Department’s Wellness Committee for organizing two successful holiday season give-back campaigns this year! Special thanks to Wellness Committee members Renee Rosiek, NP, Matt Cornwell, CRNA, and Lindsey Gouker, MD, for leading these giving campaigns in 2022.
On the 75th anniversary of the Marine Corps Reserve’s annual Toys for Tots drive, generous contributions from Department members generated a load of toys to benefit area children in need. For the Share Your Holiday drive, Department members generously donated new clothing, toys and monetary support to purchase gifts for making the holidays brighter for adults, teens and children of an 11-member area family in need.
Toys for Tots Coordinator and UNC Anesthesiology NP Renee Rosiek noted: “I would like to thank all who participated in the Toys for Tots drive. Your generosity and holiday spirit will make the holiday very special for children in need.” 
Share Your Holiday Coordinator and Assistant Professor Lindsay Gouker stated: “Our amazing department raised $3500 to support a family of 11 this holiday season through the Triangle Non-profit and Volunteer Leadership Center’s ‘Share Your Holiday’ program. We raised so much that we were able to support this family AND several others through the organization!
I’m so proud of our team of faculty, residents, and staff who contributed this year, and I’m grateful to be able to share the true spirit of the holiday via giving with others this season.”
