UNC Department of Anesthesiology was thrilled to welcome Anesthesia Tech Corine Thompson (returning full-time) and CRNA J. Lisandro Hernández Pérez to the team in December 2022!

Corine Thompson returns to the team as a full-time Anesthesia Tech and Manager. Since 2012, Corine has worked at UNC as an Anesthesia Tech. She moved to a part-time role while working as a coach and teacher for Durham County Public Schools. Corine has a undergraduate background in Sport Science & Business (NC A&T University) as well as two Master’s degrees — Kinesiology & Sport Management (University of Central Missouri) and Teaching/Education (NC A&T University). The Department is thrilled that Corine has chosen to pursue Anesthesia Technology at UNC in a full-time capacity.

Lisandro Hernandez joins UNC Anesthesiology as a Locums CRNA. Lisandro graduated from UNC-Greensboro with his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). As an undergraduate, Lisandro obtained a BSN from UNC-Chapel Hill. Prior to nurse anesthesia school, he worked as a Cardiothoracic ICU, Cardiovascular ICU and MICU RN at Duke University Medical Center, UNC Hospitals, and various other locations across the U.S. Lisandro’s hobbies include biking, mountaineering, guitar playing and cooking.
