UNC Department of Anesthesiology was pleased to welcome Administrative Assistant Starleana (“Starr”) Holley and Public Communications Specialist Thomas Costello to the team in late November!

Starleana “Starr” Holley is the newest Administrative Assistant to join the UNC Department of Anesthesiology team. She is a now a full-time UNC HCS employee and serves as the Department’s CME and Grand Rounds Coordinator. Prior to joining the Department, Starr was an Administrative Associate for Imaging Services in the UNC Department of Radiology. She has additionally worked in the UNC School of Medicine Burn Intensive Care Unit and in the Emergency Department as a Health Unit Coordinator. Starr was born in New Jersey and likes to read and watch Anime.

Thomas Costello joins the UNC Department of Anesthesiology team as our Public Communication Specialist. Most recently, Thomas served as Digital Media Manager and Associate Director of Communications and Marketing for the UNC School of Nursing for over three years.

Beyond UNC, Thomas has worked in music artist management at The Glow, in children’s education programs at the Museum of Life and Science and in the coffee business at Counter Culture Coffee. Thomas was born and raised in NC and lives in Hillsborough with his wife Alex. He enjoys playing soccer, running and DIY home renovation.  Thomas can be reached at Thomas_Costello@med.unc.edu.
