- Innate immunity and autoimmune disease
- Neuroimmunology
- Nucleic acid sensing, type I interferon signaling
- Rare disease, inborn errors of immunity
Dr. Yan has a B. S. in Microbiology from Fudan University, Shanghai, China and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Texas at Austin. He is currently a Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Immunology at the University Southwestern. His research focuses on cancer immunology, innate immunity and autoimmune disease, neuroimmunology, nucleic acid sensing, type I interferon signaling, and rare disease, inborn errors of immunity.
