“Strategies to target the mTORC1/eIF4F Axis in B-cell malignancies”

Abstract:

mTOR complex-1 (mTORC1) is a key regulator of B cell proliferation and differentiation. Elevated mTORC1 activity is also common in B cell cancers and is associated with poor prognosis. We have shown that eukaryotic initiation factor 4F (eIF4F) is a key mTORC1 effector pathway in the activation and differentiation of normal B cells. This seminar will describe current efforts to develop improved approaches to target the mTORC1/eIF4F axis in B cell leukemia and lymphoma.
