Liu Mei, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Fellow, Jean Cook Lab

UNC-Chapel Hill

Title: “How do breast cancer cells acquire drug resistance in the early stages?”

Dr. Liu Mei obtained her Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Zhejiang University in China where she focused on investigating the regulation of the Hippo signaling pathway in both cancer and normal tissues. Her training enhanced her expertise in cell biology research and fueled her interest in understanding cellular growth control. Dr. Mei’s current research focuses on understanding drug resistance mechanisms in breast cancer cells, particularly regarding the escape of cells from cell cycle inhibition.
