Student Support Circle – Black lives matter

June 3, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Worldwide we are experiencing unprecedented times. COVID-19 has disproportionately affected the Black, Latinx, and Native communities in the US. The Black community is not only suffering from the struggles associated with COVID-19, but is also suffering from despicable racist acts, and police brutality that lead to the atrocious murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor. This has shaken our community which excels in promoting and maintaining a safe space for all our members. We understand that the latest events are extremely frustrating, infuriating, and painful. Our community has risen and taken a stance against the despicable acts committed by members of the uniformed forces by protesting massively all around the country. These manifestations are making the voices of those who are not with us anymore heard, raising public awareness, and putting a spotlight on injustice. We see you. We stand by you. We want you to know that UNC-CH SACNAS chapter supports you. Black lives matter.

We will host a support circle tomorrow at 3:00 P.M through Zoom to help cope with recent incidents in our community. All are welcome. Event details can be email to those with a UNC email address please contact the event organizer.
