11th Symposium on Hemostasis

April 25 - April 27

11th Symposium on Hemostasis: Coagulation, Platelet Biology at the Intersection of Health and Disease

 April 25-27, 2024

The Carolina Inn, Chapel Hill, North Carolina

The symposium planned for 2024 will continue to focus on the latest findings in the field of hemostasis and thrombosis. The meeting consists of several sessions focusing on new insights into the basic biochemistry of coagulation; platelet production, function, and storage; mechanisms underlying thrombosis with aging; the crosstalk of coagulation components with complement; mechanisms of cancer-associated thrombosis; immune interactions with platelets and the coagulation system during sepsis; novel animal models to study xenotransplantation; emerging therapeutics for bleeding and thrombotic disorders. Moreover, important new research on the state of gene therapy for treatment of sickle cell disease will also be presented. In addition, we will feature a session to highlight the research of trainees attending the symposium.
