The UNC Blood Research Center is committed to supporting the advancement of medical knowledge about bleeding and clotting disorders by supporting clinical and laboratory research in these areas. Our research portfolio encompasses many aspects of hemostasis and thrombosis. These include, but are not limited to: hemophilia A and B (gene therapy, new types of prophylaxis for hemophilia patients, drug comparisons, etc.), pulmonary embolism (PE), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), venous thromboembolism (VTE), myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN), cancer related thrombosis, hemophilia joint issues, hemophilic arthropathy pain management, von Willebrand disease as well as Sickle Cell Disease.
