About the Keynote Speakers:
Ellen Puré, PhD
Dr. Ellen Puré is the chair of the Department of Biomedical Sciences and the director of the Penn Vet Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Puré has discovered several novel ways through which our immune system regulates inflammation, and her work continues to focus on characterizing how various cells and molecules contribute to inflammation and fibrosis, especially in the context of chronic inflammatory diseases and cancer.
Ricardo Dolmetsch, PhD
Dr. Ricardo Dolmetsch is responsible for uniQure’s gene therapy research activities, as well as nonclinical development, process development, analytical development and vector development. Dr. Dolmetsch joins uniQure from Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research where he served as the Global Head of Neuroscience since 2013. He has led the development of treatments for neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric diseases, including rare genetically defined disorders. Prior to NIBR, Dr. Dolmetsch was a Professor at Stanford Medical School. He obtained his Ph.D. in neuroscience from Stanford University and conducted his postdoctoral training at Harvard University Medical School and Children’s Hospital Boston.
