Areas of Interest

My project is investigating the role of coagulation and fibrinolysis proteins in the development of obesity and associated pathologies, such as fatty liver disease, diabetes and insulin resistance. In particular, I am determining the molecular and cellular mechanisms by which fibrinogen and plasminogen regulate metabolic processes resulting in obesity and metabolic syndrome.
