Both of these “Triple Tar Heels” are known for their passion and dedication to furthering high quality, comprehensive Emergency Medicine education, combined with an unwavering focus on providing outstanding patient care.
It is with gratitude and admiration for the tireless efforts of Dr. Nikki Binz that we announce she is transitioning the Residency Program Director role to Dr. Collyn Murray as of October 1, 2025. Dr. Binz will continue to lead in a number of key roles within the Department of Emergency Medicine, including serving as Vice Chair of Education.
Dr. Murray is widely recognized for her focus on academic excellence and medical education, as well as fostering the role of residents as teachers, and the value of individualized learning.
