This prestigious award was presented at the AAMS annual Air Medical Transport (AMTC) Conference.
It recognizes young professionals who are redefining leadership, innovation and excellence in clinical care, communications, safety and advocacy.
“Dr. Smith’s leadership has truly elevated how we deliver critical care before patients ever reach the hospital, said Leanne Reaves, Associate Director of Carolina Air Care, UNC Health.
“His innovation, dedication to education, and evidence-based approach have advanced the entire field of air medical transport. We are incredibly proud to celebrate his recognition as one of the 40 Under 40 AAMS award honorees; an achievement that reflects not only his individual excellence, but also the lasting impact he’s had on the Carolina Air Care team, the air medical transport community, and the patients of North Carolina we serve.”
Also receiving the award on behalf of UNC are Mira Baldwin, MHA/BSN, and Shauna Hadgraft, BSA/RN — both managers with Carolina Air Care.
In addition, Leanne Reaves, MSN, Associate Director of Carolina Air Care, received the Excellence in Transport
