Dr. Migliaccio is also UNC’s Director of Emergency Ultrasound, and Director of the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship Program.


He is dual board certified in Emergency Medicine as well as Point of Care Ultrasound, with a “Focused Practice Designation” in Advanced Point of Care Ultrasound through the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

“I find my role at UNC to be extremely rewarding, because I’m able to pursue my passion for medical education, along with my interests in leveraging the latest and most effective, research-backed ultrasound techniques,” said Migliaccio. “It’s very gratifying to be able to provide our patients with the very highest quality and customized care to diagnose and treat their conditions.”

Dr. Migliaccio completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Stanford University, during which time he obtained an Honors Certificate in Medical Education from the Clinical Teaching Scholars Honors Program, and an award for Outstanding Achievement in Ultrasound.

He also has an interest in Wilderness/Mountain Emergency Medicine.
