Welcome to Daiwei (David) Zhang, PhD.
Dr. Zhang has been appointed as an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in the Department of Biostatistics, with a joint appointment in the Department of Genetics. Following completion of his MS (Biostatistics) and PhD (Biostatistics and Scientific Computing) at the University of Michigan, Dr. Zhang continued his training as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on the development of novel AI frameworks to analyze high-dimensional, multi-modal, multi-scale data, especially those originating from spatial omics, computational pathology, and medical imaging. The overarching goal of his research is to harness the power of AI to answer the most pressing scientific, engineering, and clinical needs in biomedicine and health care.
