Assistant Professor

Jesse Raab, PhD has been appointed as Assistant Professor on the tenure-track, effective January 1, 2020.

Dr. Raab obtained his PhD in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2011 and served as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Magnuson laboratory in the UNC Department of Genetics (2012-2016). In 2016, Jesse was appointed as Assistant Professor on the research track. He is currently funded through a Department of Defense Career Development Award. The goal of his research program is to understand how the composition of the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex is regulated and how altered chromatin remodeling disrupts normal chromatin state and contributes to disease.
