Jeremy Purvis, PhD has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor with permanent tenure in the Department of Genetics, effective July 1, 2019.
Dr. Purvis earned his PhD in 2009 from University of Pennsylvania and was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School (2009-2013). He joined the UNC Department of Genetics as an Assistant Professor in 2013, also serving as a member of the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Curriculum in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. Jeremy became adjunct faculty in the Department of Biomedical Engineering in 2018 as well as a member of the Computational Medicine Program. Jeremy was recently awarded a CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation.
