Will Valdar, PhD has been appointed Director of the UNC Bioinformatics and Computational Biology curriculum, effective July 1, 2019.
Dr. Valdar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Genetics with an outstanding research program in statistical genetics. He has been Associate Director of the BCB Curriculum for many years and he teaches the highly-attended BCB 720 course (Introduction to Statistical Modelling). Since his appointment as faculty in the department, he has been a highly effective mentor to graduate students and has a track record of commitment to graduate education and career mentoring.
