Jesse Raab, PhD (Research Assistant Professor) is the PI on a new Career Development Award from DoD.

The project, titled “Mechanistic Analysis of ARID Mutations in Hepatocellular Carcinoma” focuses on characterizing changes to SWI/SNF composition and targeting, determining the role of SWI/SNF on altered chromatin in the liver and generation of novel SWI/SNF-dependent liver tumor models.  By expanding our fundamental knowledge about the SWI/SNF complex, advancing therapies for liver cancer may be possible.  This is particularly relevant to the US veteran population who are five times more susceptible to viral hepatitis, predisposing them to liver cancer.
