Dr. Sarah Schoenrock has been appointed as Research Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of Research in the Department of Genetics.
Sarah received BS degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Texas Women’s University and a PhD in Neuroscience at UNC Chapel Hill, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in the Center for Systems Neurogenetics of Addiction at UNC. She also served as an adjunct Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Elon University during 2018-2019. In this new departmental role, Sarah will work closely with Chris Gregory, Director of Research, to more fully develop the research portfolio and to facilitate research activity of the Department through a focus on training, leadership, project management, technical writing, strategic thinking, and broad scientific and funding agency knowledge, in the identification of and application to large federal and private grant opportunities. Faculty are encouraged to reach out to Dr. Schoenrock with suggestions for large grant applications.
