Dr. Lisa Tarantino (Professor, Genetics and Assistant Dean for Research, Eshelman School of Pharmacy) was awarded an R03 grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse for her project titled “Using unbiased whole-brain imaging to identify functional brain networks in genetically heterogeneous Collaborative Cross mouse strains with divergent responses to cocaine”.
The proposed studies will reveal interactions between drug exposure and genetic background that could uncover unique mechanisms that increase risk for cocaine use disorder and lead to novel targets for prevention and treatment.
