The UNC School of Medicine Academy of Educators inducted Nancy Bagatell and Linn Wakeford into its ranks on May 23. Wakeford in an associate professor in the Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, where Bagatell serves as program director. The division is housed in the Department of Allied Health Sciences (DAHS).
Wakeford is also coordinator for admission and for the master’s program in occupational therapy. Bagatell is also an associate professor and coordinator for the PhD program in occupational science. The master’s in occupational therapy is ranked #9 in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report.
Founded in 2006, the Academy of Educators emphasizes teaching and supports faculty development in Chapel Hill and across the state. More than 250 active faculty members and 60 resident members represent a diverse population of educators across various specialties.

To provide a forum for education leadership and advice for the dean, vice dean for medical education, and leadership of the curriculum.
Bagatell and Wakeford join Cara McComish, PhD, who was the inaugural DAHS inductee in 2017, and Lisa Johnston, DPT (2018), DPT, Elizabeth Crais, PhD (2018).
