UNC Health is working with the American Board of Medical Specialties Portfolio Program to help you earn MOC Part IV Credit from participating ABMS Member Boards or PI-CME credit from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for Quality Improvement work you are involved with.

There are 3 ways to earn credit for QI work that you are already doing:

  1. If you hold a QI or Patient Safety title and are actively engaged in the oversight/management of QI projects (e.g., Quality and Safety Committee Chair, Member of the Quality Improvement Oversight Committee, etc.)
  2. If you are actively participating in an already approved QI project listed here
  3. If you have created a QI poster detailing the AIM and measures of your QI project

Just complete a 10-minute Attestation located at to apply for credit.

Examples of Credit Offered for each QI project participation:

  • American Board of Pediatrics grants 25 points
  • American Board of Internal Medicine grants 30 points
  • American Board of Anesthesiology grants 20 – 25 points
  • Other Physician Boards require participation in at least one QI project
  • NCCPA grants physician assistants 50 points

See the flyer for more details or contact Monecia Thomas to help you identify QI work that qualifies for credit.
