UNC Health is working with the American Board of Medical Specialties Portfolio Program to help you earn MOC Part IV Credit from participating ABMS Member Boards or PI-CME credit from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for Quality Improvement work you are involved with.
There are 3 ways to earn credit for QI work that you are already doing:
- If you hold a QI or Patient Safety title and are actively engaged in the oversight/management of QI projects (e.g., Quality and Safety Committee Chair, Member of the Quality Improvement Oversight Committee, etc.)
- If you are actively participating in an already approved QI project listed here https://www.med.unc.edu/ihqi/programs/ncmoc/approved-nc-moc-projects/
- If you have created a QI poster detailing the AIM and measures of your QI project
Just complete a 10-minute Attestation located at https://www.med.unc.edu/ihqi/programs/ncmoc/ to apply for credit.
Examples of Credit Offered for each QI project participation:
- American Board of Pediatrics grants 25 points
- American Board of Internal Medicine grants 30 points
- American Board of Anesthesiology grants 20 – 25 points
- Other Physician Boards require participation in at least one QI project
- NCCPA grants physician assistants 50 points
