Lean Six Sigma at UNC Health Care
Lean Six Sigma is a method that relies on a collaborative team effort to improve performance by systematically removing waste and reducing variation. Lean Six Sigma not only reduces process defects and waste, but also provides a framework for overall organizational culture change.
At UNC Health Care, Lean Six Sigma training is provided by the department of Operational Efficiency (OE). Details for available programs are listed below:

- Kaizen Coach: This program is for employees who will become full-time improvement coaches. Kaizen Coach is time and resource‐intensive, so it is essential to have management and personal support to complete this rigorous training and, once certified, to function as an improvement coach.
