Shadowing

Students who wish to participate in clinical shadowing must be in good academic standing, enrolled or on an academic leave (not personal or medical leave), and fully compliant with health, safety, and training requirements for clinical rotations. Preceptors must be faculty members with UNCH privileges; trainees are not eligible to serve as preceptors. All shadowing must be approved in advance by the preceptor.

To register for shadowing, students must submit details including date, time, faculty contact, and location at least two weeks in advance using the designated Qualtrics form. Shadowing is strictly observational; students are not permitted to engage in patient care or participate in OR shadowing due to current hospital policies.
