Koyal Jain, MD, MPHDear Colleagues,

I am so excited to welcome you to the University of North Carolina Adult Nephrology Fellowship and the UNC Kidney Center. The Kidney Center is a large group but at the same time a close-knit family and I am extremely proud of the incredible work done by all members of the center.

As a trainee, you will work alongside phenomenal clinicians and world-class researchers who will train you in all aspects of nephrology. You will have the ability to learn nephrology through a variety of subspecialty clinics, including glomerulonephritis and vasculitis, transplant, hypertension, stone, MFM/pregnancy, and home dialysis clinics. You will have the opportunity to work in our outpatient vascular access center with our interventional nephrologists. Our research faculty are dedicated to your education and growth.

The Division of Nephrology is highly supportive of all its trainees, and we work towards trainee success. The fellowship program is designed to ensure maximal flexibility to accommodate fellow needs and interests. Fellow career paths have varied from academia to private practice. We provide you with all the tools to ensure a successful career.

Our nephrology graduates are outstanding clinicians, researchers, educators, and humans. I consider it an honor and privilege to work with some of the brightest trainees. As a program director who juggles work and family, it is my goal to ensure that my fellows have a healthy work-life balance and integration. I value fellow feedback and incorporate changes to improve the program in an ongoing fashion. I truly believe that you are the future of nephrology and would love the opportunity to work with you!

Sincerely,
Koyal Jain, MD, MPH
