Dr. Aaron Lindeke-Myers is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of North Carolina. Dr. Lindeke-Myers grew up in Hillsborough, North Carolina. He then went to Amherst, Massachusetts to earn his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience at Hampshire College. During college, he discovered his passion for ophthalmology in Ghana where he spent a summer volunteering providing eye care in rural villages. He went on to earn his MD with Latin Honors from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was recognized for his outstanding service to the community. After medical school, he moved back home to the Triangle to complete his ophthalmology residency at Duke University Eye Center in Durham, North Carolina.

Dr. Lindeke-Myers provides comprehensive eye care. He performs cataract surgery, including using advanced technology lenses, and performs in-office laser procedures for secondary cataracts and glaucoma. He also medically manages glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration. He is committed to ensuring each patient understands their eye conditions and is dedicated to working with patients to provide personalized treatment plans.

Dr. Lindeke-Myers has presented at national ophthalmology conferences and published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles on maculopathy, ocular drug safety, and patient perspectives in ophthalmic care. Outside of work, Dr. Lindeke-Myers enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the Triangle’s flourishing food scene, trail running, and mountaineering.
