Adult Spine
The Adult Spine Division at UNC Orthopaedics provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for a full spectrum of spinal conditions, including degenerative disorders, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, deformities, tumors, trauma, and conditions affecting the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. Our team of fellowship-trained spine surgeons work collaboratively to develop individualized treatment plans that prioritize each patient’s goals, function, and quality of life.
The division offers the latest surgical and nonsurgical treatment options, including minimally invasive spine surgery, microsurgical decompression, spinal instrumentation and fusion, motion-preserving procedures, and advanced techniques for complex spinal conditions. When surgery is appropriate, our providers utilize evidence-based approaches designed to improve outcomes while promoting a safe and efficient recovery.
In addition to providing exceptional patient care, our faculty are committed to advancing the field of spine surgery through research, education, and innovation. As members of the UNC School of Medicine, they train the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons while contributing to research that helps shape the future of spine care.
