Clinical Divisions

The UNC Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is deeply committed to its clinical mission. The clinical arm of the department is comprised of Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology, and includes 13 divisions. Everyday we deliver comprehensive diagnostic, consultative, and laboratory services that support patient care across UNC Health and its affiliated institutions. Each division brings expertise in a distinct area of pathology, working collaboratively to ensure accurate, timely diagnoses that guide treatment and improve patient outcomes.

Our divisions seamlessly integrate clinical service, education, and research to deepen the understanding of disease mechanisms, develop innovative diagnostic tools, and train the next generation of pathologists and laboratory professionals.
