Edwin H. Kim, MD

We are excited to announce that, effective July 16, 2021, Dr. Edwin Kim is now primarily appointed in the Department of Pediatrics as our new Division Chief of Pediatric Allergy-Immunology. Dr. Kim is familiar to many as he has been an Allergist in the UNC Department of Medicine since 2011. Dr. Kim received a BS in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston in 1996. He went on to receive his MS in Health Policy and Administration from Harvard University in Boston in 2001 and his medical degree was received from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 2005. Dr. Kim completed his Pediatric residency at Duke University School of Medicine in 2008 as well as a fellowship in Allergy & Immunology in 2011. Dr. Kim is an exceptional clinical researcher with national and international recognition as one of the leading experts in food allergy immunotherapy, in particular sublingual immunotherapy. He has led the Fool Allergy Initiative at UNC since October 2015. We are so pleased to have Edwin firmly established with UNC Children’s in his new leadership role!
