Information for Applicants
How to Apply to the Pediatrics Residency
Our program participates in the NRMP and accepts applications through ERAS. Deadline for application is November 1st. Criteria for all applicants include:
- Graduation from medical school no more than two years prior to application year
- At least three Letters of Recommendation
- MSPE
- Transcript
- Personal Statement
- Passing USMLE Step 1/COMLEX Level 1 result at the time of application
- Passing USMLE Step 2 CK/COMLEX Level 2 CE result at the time of Rank List submission
- For International or Foreign Medical Graduates:
- ECFMG certification is required by the time of rank list submission
- UNC Hospitals supports the J-1 visa

- 11:30am ET – Why Come to UNC?
- 12:00pm ET – Individual Meetings with our Program Director
Socials with Our Residents
The residents will also host social events via Zoom. Scheduled applicants are invited to attend the social that works best for their schedules. Our dates are:
