Inpatient

Moses Cone Health System is a not-for-profit, community-based, system of five hospitals. The flagship hospital, Moses H. Cone Memorial is a 550-bed not-for-profit hospital located just north of downtown Greensboro.

The Pediatric Teaching Program at Moses Cone is staffed by 8 full-time pediatric faculty. Residents see patients in a variety of settings, following them from presentation in the Emergency Room, which has Pediatric EM attendings seeing over 20,000 patients yearly, to the regular inpatient floor, which is an 18 bed unit with 1250 admissions a year. Critically ill children are admitted to the 4 bed ICU which is staffed by 3 Pediatric Intensivists. One of the unique highlights of the Moses Cone experience is multi-disciplinary family-centered rounds. In an effort to enhance each patient and family’s experience, the medical team is joined daily by a Social Worker, Pediatric Psychologist, and a Pediatric Pharmacist during rounds. Residents also have a chance to interact with pediatric specialists for surgery, critical care, cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology, asthma / allergy, diabetes / endocrinology, and psychology. While rotating at Moses Cone, residents also have a chance to work side by side with the Moses Cone Family Practice residents.
