At UNC, our Pediatrics Residency Program is dedicated to delivering a comprehensive and balanced education in general pediatrics, enriched by broad exposure to subspecialty care. We take pride in preparing our residents to thrive in any career path they choose—whether in primary care, hospital medicine, or subspecialty training.

Over our 70-year history, our graduates have consistently pursued diverse career trajectories, with approximately half entering fellowship programs and half launching careers in general pediatrics. This balance reflects the strength and flexibility of our training.
