Lung function testing at the Cystic Fibrosis CenterUNC Pediatric Pulmonology provides state of the art diagnosis and treatment of lung disease in children, cutting edge research into many aspects of pulmonary disease, and one of the discipline’s leading fellowship training programs.  Our goal is to improve the health and wellbeing of children living with conditions such as aerodigestive disorders, asthma, bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), cystic fibrosis (CF), neuromuscular disorders, primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD), rare or genetic lung diseases, and others.  Our team provides care to children all across North Carolina as well as neighboring states and across the globe.

    Noah Recieves 2025 Assembly on Pediatrics Lifetime Contributions to Pediatric Respiratory Medicine Award

    Terry Noah, MD, Jacob A. Lohr Distinguished Professor of Pediatrics, has been selected by the Assembly on Pediatric (PEDS) Award Selection Committee to receive the American Thoracic Society (ATS) Assembly on Pediatrics Lifetime Contributions to Pediatric Respiratory Medicine Award. Dr. Noah has been a faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics and the Pulmonary Division for nearly 35 years. He has provided care for children with chronic lung diseases, taught medical students, residents and pulmonary fellows and engaged in research of chronic lung diseases. He has held numerous leadership roles, including Division Chief of Pediatric Pulmonology and Senior Vice Chair for the the Department of Pediatrics. Congratulations!

    Leigh Receives 2025 Edwin L. Kendig, Jr Award

    The AAP Section on Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine recently presented the 2025 Edwin L. Kendig Jr. Award to Margaret “Magee” W. Leigh, MD. Dr. Leigh, a recent retiree, served as a faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics and the Pulmonary Division for over 40 years. Congratulations!
