Dr. Pratt succesfully defended his PhD thesis, "Molecular Programming of CD8 T cells in Infection and Cancer" under the mentorship of Dr. Justin Milner.

The study found that the vitamin D analog paricalcitol may help weaken the protective environment surrounding pancreatic tumors, potentially improving the effectiveness of chemotherapy.

The award recognizes her exceptional work in showing the contribution of DVL1 in the transcription of genes involved in various cellular functions, including those that drive triple-negative breast tumorigenesis and modulation of the tumor microenvironment.

This discovery could lead to new therapeutic strategies for multiple diseases.
