Functional Radiation Medicine
Functional radiation medicine treats nonmalignant (noncancer) conditions with radiation. The goals of treatment are generally to address symptoms related to the underlying disease with a focus on improving an individual’s quality of life. The UNC Department of Radiation Oncology offers treatment for a wide range of conditions.
