Social media content shared by School of Medicine departments and programs must be accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. Accessibility requirements apply not only to websites, but also to content published on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
Accessible social media includes practices such as:
- Writing descriptive alt text for images
- Using camel case for hashtags (e.g., #SchoolOfMedicine)
- Providing captions for videos
- Avoiding excessive emojis or decorative text
- Ensuring sufficient color contrast in graphics
