John C Gomez, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the laboratory of Dr. Claire Doerschuk.

Research Focus

Dr. Gomez’ interests are in pulmonary microvascular endothelial cells and how they respond during the inflammatory process in the lungs during pneumonia and other injuries. His studies focus on the ways in which endothelial cells modulate neutrophil adhesion and the intracellular signals initiated by leukocyte binding to endothelial cells, as well as the mechanisms through which endothelial cells regulate vascular permeability. He is also interested in signaling in neutrophils, particularly the signaling pathways that regulate their responses to inflammatory stimuli.
