Human Phase I Clinical Studies
The UNC CF Center has extensive clinical trial expertise, with an offsite facility under construction that should be available by January, 2012 and on-site hospital facilities utilizing the UNC CTSA system. We have an extensive cadre of superb clinical trial specialists and an efficient IRB system. Unique aspects of the Phase I unit pertinent to development of human pulmonary therapeutics include:
- Radionuclide Measurements of Mucociliary Clearance
- Novel Airway Surface Pharamcokinetics Techniques
- Novel Biomarkers for Pulmonary Drug Development
- Measures of the Pulmonary Microbiome
