Questions about Appointments

How do I schedule an appointment?

UNC Plastic Surgery is a referral-based clinic:

  • Adult referrals must be faxed to (919) 843-8251.  No referrals are necessary for aesthetic surgery.  All adult new patient appointments are scheduled through our appointment scheduler by calling (919) 843-9091.
  • Pediatric referrals must be faxed to (919) 966-3814.  All pediatric new patient appointments are scheduled through the Pediatric Clinic at (919) 966-1401.

How do I schedule a follow-up appointment?

Adult return patients seeing Dr. van Aalst or Dr. Gage should call (919) 966-2225.  All other adult return patient appointments may be made by calling the Clinic at (919) 966-6461, option 2.

Pediatric return patients seeing Dr. van Aalst or Dr. Gage should call (919) 966-1401. All other pediatric return patient appointments may be made by calling (919) 966-6461 option 2.

How do I cancel/reschedule an appointment?

To cancel or reschedule a new adult patient appointment, call (919) 843-9091. To cancel or reschedule an adult follow-up appointment, call (919) 966-6461, option 2. 

To cancel or reschedule a new or return pediatric patient appointment, call (919) 966-1401. 

Please be aware that rescheduled appointments may not be immediately available and are made on a first-available basis. We ask that you give the Clinic 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
