The recipient of this year’s Brown/Kraus Scholarship in Gerontology is an aspiring theater design student. Nim, the 2023 recipient, says that theater brings the generations together and creates joy. Nim remembers how much fun it was for her to have older adults from the local senior center attend dress rehearsals for shows at Middletown High School South.

This fall, Nim will attend Montclair State University to pursue a BA in Theater Design. She also wants to continue her acting career beyond high school.

The Brown/Kraus Scholarship in Gerontology

This annual $1,000 scholarship goes to a Middletown High School South (Middletown, NJ) senior with an interest in working with older adults. The scholarship was established by Dr. Cristine Henage to honor her aunt, Sandra R. Kraus who passed away in October 2015.
