MSTAR Housing Options

On-Campus Guest Housing

On-campus Guest Housing is available to students in the MSTAR program. Apartments are available in 2 and 4 bedrooms but are only available to students staying between June and the end of the first week in August. Currently,  there are one- and two-bedroom fully furnished apartments on both north and south campus. Each unit includes linens, towels, and kitchenware. Rent is $38.50 a night equaling approximately $1155 a month for a furnished apartment. Please check the Guest housing page for the most up-to-date information.

Summer Subleases

During summer, subleases are readily available in Chapel Hill as an option for MSTAR housing. However, not all sublets are in close proximity to the UNC-CH campus. Be sure the check the location for nearby bus routes. In addition to www.Chapelhillrent.com and the Raleigh Craigslist apartment section, we can also post your inquiry on the private UNC student medical Facebook page.

Most students find reasonable summer sublets through our medical student Facebook page.  In addition, a vast number of sublets are within a convenient distance from one of Chapel Hill’s many free city bus stops. Short-Term Furnished Apartments

With so many universities and young professionals in the Triangle, there are ample furnished apartments with short-term lease agreements. However, short term rentals in the Triangle are not usually inexpensive. Yet in some cases, you can use an online rent finder service and can get a $100 gift card after signing your lease.
