Open Note Safety
The 21st Century Cures Act requires almost all healthcare notes to be provided to patients as soon as possible via online portals. While the increased transparency may help with things such as medication compliance, it also presents unique safety concerns. The Beacon Program along with UNC Gillings School of Public Health student embarked on a project to identify potential safety risks to patients from Open Notes and formulate possible solutions.
