Drs. Mackman and Hisada published an invited review article entitled “Mechanisms of cancer-associated thrombosis” in Research and Practice in Thrombosis and Haemostasis. In the review, they described 4 pathways of cancer-associated thrombosis including tissue factor-positive extracellular vesicles, podoplanin, neutrophil extracellular traps and plasminogen activator inhibitor-1. This review article is based on a State-of-the-Art lecture presented by Dr. Mackman at the ISTH congress in 2022.
