Research Interests: At the intersection of gene regulation and iron homeostasis are Poly (rC)-Binding Proteins (PCBPs). Thought to be the primary metallochaperone for iron in the cell, PCBPs are required for cell viability. However, the impact of iron-deficiency on global cellular gene regulation is lacking. Using biophysical, biochemical, and molecular biology techniques, gene regulation by PCBPs,  in the context of cellular iron homeostasis, can be illustrated.
